South Africa has recorded 891 new coronavirus cases bringing the total number to 716 759. In a statement, the Department of Health also reported 40 COVID-19 related deaths.
“Eight from Eastern Cape, four from Gauteng, one from KwaZulu Natal, four from Mpumalanga, 16 from North West and seven from Western Cape. ”
This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 19 008.
“Of the 40 deaths reported today, 10 were reported to have occurred in the past 24-48 hours: two from Eastern Cape; four from Gauteng; one from KwaZulu- Natal and three in the Western Cape.”
The recoveries now stand at 646 721 which translates to a recovery rate of 90%.
