Social Development Minister, Lindiwe Zulu, has been elected the new Chairperson of the Partners in Population and Development (PPD). She was elected unanimously and will serve a three-year term.
The PPD is an inter-governmental organisation launched during the historic International Conference on Population and Development that took place in Cairo, Egypt in 1994.
It currently consists of 27 developing countries.
Minister Zulu says her emphasis will be the need to continue highlighting the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on gender-based violence and femicide in South Africa and across the globe.
